Trade route

Tin route through Gaul

Tin from Cornwall was taken to the tidal island of Ictis, shipped across to Gaul and then carried overland for about thirty days to the mouth of the Rhône and Massalia. Greek writers from Pytheas to Diodorus describe the trade, which supplied bronze-makers around the Mediterranean.
