When the protector-general Liu Yanyou levied full taxes on the Li people, who had paid half, Lý Tự Tiên plotted a rising and was killed; Đinh Kiến took over, stormed Songping and killed Liu, but a Tang army under Cao Xuanjing crushed the rebels.
