The six-year-old Đinh Toàn, Đinh Tiên Hoàng's last surviving son, was put on the throne with the Ten Circuits commander Lê Hoàn as regent; the lords Đinh Điền and Nguyễn Bặc rose against Lê Hoàn and were defeated.
